Bachelor of Science in Information and Technology Engineering, Associate of Science in Information and Technology Engineering Program Objective This program enables students to become lucrative Information Technology professionals. It empowers students to better understand the technology behind many of today's careers. Increasingly, employers see an Information Technology background as an indicator of a well-rounded individual. The IT program will assist in fields such as environmental modeling and games design. Independent job market surveys show that demand for IT graduates is escalating. The industry is concerned about a shortage of talent in this field. Program Description The Information Technology Engineer builds on a solid foundation in software and hardware. Through flexible study plans, the program enables students to specialize, if desired, in many new information and technology fields. Examples of leading occupational fields include: bioinformatics, computer enterprise information systems and games modeling. Students will study programming languages, algorithms and information structure and develop the ability to process data or information in order to solve problems. Besides technical skills, students learn team dynamics, presentation skills and project management. Course Structure : For Bachelors, students are required to take 42 credits per year (15 credits for each Fall and Spring semesters and 12 credits for each Summer semester for first two years) and 36 credits the third year. In total, students are required to successfully complete 120 semester credits. For Associates, students are required to take 60 credits (30 credits every year)
