Welcome to the English Language Institute at TUA. If you are looking for small classes, instruction tailored to your needs, and individual attention, you have come to the right place.

The ELI offers English as a Second Language (ESL) to all non-native speakers who want English to be an important part of their communication for social, business, professional, and/or academic pursuits.

The ELI also serves groups interested in English and United States culture. Since TUA is located in South Florida, international students can enjoy the tremendous cultural diversity available in this region and enhance their English language learning experience.

ENGLISH as A Second Language

Program Objective

Graduates of the English as a Second Language (ESL)) Program will be able to communicate in English in everyday situations. The emphasis of the program is “communicative language”.

Program Description:

The ELI offers a complete 10-level ESL program. When students enter the program, they are given a placement test to determine their language proficiency level. Each student starts at his or her own level and works from there to achieve mastery and fluency in the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

The ELI uses a variety of learning resources designed specifically for the adult language learner. The goal is to create a positive learning environment and assure the success of each and every student.

The ELI uses only the most qualified and experienced instructors, and we keep the student/ instructor ratio small to benefit you.

Graduates of the program, those who have demonstrated mastery at the advanced level, will receive a Certificate of English Competency. Successfull completion of the program prepares students for all college-level English competancy tesst such as TOEFL, IELTS, ..
